Planet Sport Group has acquired football highlights channel Grassroot Goals, a move that will allow the sports media business to connect with a broader and more engaged community of football fans.
Grassroot Goals has over 700,000 followers across TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook. The channel focuses on short-form videos that celebrate Sunday league football and the lower levels of the football pyramid, capturing moments that resonate with fans who live and breathe the grassroots game.
The content is created by sports fans and shared with like-minded audiences, a model that aligns with Planet Sport Group’s commitment to using user-generated content to entertain and engage. With this acquisition, the group will offer brand advertisers new opportunities to reach fans through one of the most active football communities on social media.
Grassroot Goals will keep its identity as a standalone brand. Planet Sport Group will also build on its existing commercial relationships, which include well-known partners like Carling and Captain Morgan.

This deal follows the group’s 2023 acquisition of the F1 Word YouTube channel and is part of a wider strategy to increase its focus on video content across football, rugby union, rugby league, golf, tennis, horse racing and Formula 1.
Grassroot Goals now joins a growing portfolio that includes Football365, TEAMtalk, Planet Football, PlanetSport.com and Sport365.
