Bradford-based food manufacturer Regal Food Products Group has announced a significant expansion with the acquisition of a 45,000 sq ft warehouse facility from FSD. The newly acquired warehouse, located on Hopbine Lane in the South Bowling area of Bradford, marks another milestone in Regal’s rapid growth trajectory.
Regal Food Products, known for its world food bakery and confectionery products and brands like Yorkshire Baking Company and Just Desserts Yorkshire, purchased the former FSD works. The sale was facilitated by property consultancy Eddisons, which is also assisting FSD in finding a new production site in Bradford.
Matt Jennings, associate director at Eddisons, commented on the transaction, stating, “We were really pleased to be able to secure a rapid sale for FSD on their Hopbine Lane site. The freehold industrial market is increasingly robust due to an ongoing lack of supply, and there is definitely healthy demand out there for sizeable warehouse space. It is great to see Regal Food Products, another great Bradford company, step in to take this large unit to accommodate the firm’s growth. It’s a really positive sign that Bradford’s economy is doing well.”
Regal Food Products, which employs over 300 people and generates a £32m turnover, has been on an acquisition spree. The company recently acquired Leeds cake manufacturer Love Handmade Cakes in January. Currently, Regal operates from six sites across Bradford, and the addition of the new warehouse is expected to significantly enhance its operations.
CEO Younis Chaudhry expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Following our latest acquisition earlier this year, we are really pleased to be bringing this new facility into the Regal group. The new addition promises to not only boost operations but play a key part in the development and growth of our business. As a company that has the Bradford community close to its heart, the new warehouse facility will create several new jobs, boosting employment in a range of areas of the business.”
This strategic move underscores Regal Food Products’ commitment to growth and community development, further solidifying its presence in the Bradford area.
