I love a sparkling afternoon tea and there are numerous options available in Leeds serving up their take on the quintessentially English dining experience. Most sparkling afternoon teas, however, are served with just a single glass of Prosecco, and with a range of sweet and savoury treats to consume, we often find ourselves reaching for that non-existent second glass.
I’ve done a spot of research and discovered a small selection of venues in Leeds offering a boozy upgrade with their afternoon teas. Now, whilst indulging in dainty finger sandwiches, decadent desserts and sumptuous scones, you can enjoy 90 minutes of bottomless fizz!
Here, are three bottomless afternoon teas in Leeds you need to try…
Where to get a Bottomless Afternoon Tea in Leeds
Sky Lounge
Granary Wharf, Leeds LS1 4BR
Fancy indulging in a decadent afternoon tea and unlimited prosecco whilst soaking up one of the best views in the city? Sky Lounge at DoubleTree by Hilton offers precisely that!
The standard afternoon tea at Sky Lounge is available Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Priced at £24.50 per person, it includes a selection of sandwiches and wraps, a medley of delicious desserts such as White Chocolate Raspberry Delice and Mango and Passionfruit Torte, plus the obligatory scones with cream and preserves.
For an additional £24.95 per person, you can add 90 minutes of bottomless prosecco because, when it comes to afternoon tea, one glass of fizz is rarely enough!
Angelica & Crafthouse
Level 5 & 6 Trinity Leeds, 70 Boar Lane, Leeds, LS1 6HW
Super chic rooftop restaurant and bar, Angelica & Crafthouse serves one of the most popular afternoon teas in Leeds city centre. Available Friday to Sunday between 12:30 and 2:30pm, it includes a tantalising array of classic components plus a few more contemporary treats.
Savoury elements include Coronation Chicken on Onion Bread, Korean Belly Pork with Gochujang Glaze and, Breaded Cod with Crushed Peas and Tartare Sauce – a delightful selection for those seeking more than the standard finger sandwiches. The sweets are equally as exciting with Banoffee Rice Pudding and a White Chocolate Cheesecake Bunny currently on the menu for Spring 2024!
The standard afternoon tea at Angelica & Crafthouse costs £28 per person, but for a free-flowing fizz experience, you can pay £53 for the afternoon tea plus 90 minutes of bottomless Prosecco.
Cha Lounge
24-26 Dock Street, Leeds LS10 1JF
Cha Lounge is an independent zero-waste cafe bar on Dock Street boasting rustic interiors, friendly staff and menus of healthy food that sources many of its ingredients from local farms.
It’s best known for its brilliant brunches but this indie gem also offers a cracking afternoon tea, and it’s one of only a few in Leeds to offer a bottomless version.
On the menu, you’ll find a plethora of savoury items such as sandwiches and sausage rolls alongside crudities with hummus, olive tapenade and slices of either Brie or Cheddar. For dessert, this bottomless afternoon tea in Leeds includes two mini cakes, two miniature tarts and freshly baked scones with clotted cream jam and strawberries.
This one costs £30 per person if you only want one glass of fizz but if bottomless is what you’re seeking, you can pay £44 for the Cha Lounge afternoon tea with 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco or lager.
