Cheeseburger Sushi & Katsu Dogs: Inside YO!’s Wild New Summer Fusion Menu

If you’re looking for an alternative to standard match-day food this summer, YO! has just unveiled a limited-edition “It’s Game Time” menu across all its UK restaurants and Tesco kiosks. The whole concept mashes up classic Japanese street food with bold Mexican, American, and Canadian flavours.

The headline act for the launch is a collaboration with All Saints singer Melanie Blatt. Fronting her new food brand, Mel’s Full Fullings, she has teamed up with YO! to create a massive Chicken Katsu Sandwich (£9.95). The dish stacks chicken katsu, pickled red onion, cheese sauce, and slaw into a toasted brioche bun with miso mayo and Korean ketchup, and it comes with a katsu curry sauce specifically for dipping.

Melanie Blatt said: “I’ve always loved YO!, so to be asked to collaborate was a dream come true. We’ve taken a classic YO! staple and given it a Mel’s makeover, turning the beloved chicken katsu into a dippable sandwich. It tastes so good, I can’t wait for everyone to try it.”

The rest of the restaurant menu is just as experimental. You can grab Poutine Fries (£9.95) loaded with chicken bulgogi and cheese, a Pork Katsu Dog (£10.95) in a brioche bun, and a Mexican-style Salmon Ceviche (£8.50) topped with Tajín crispy onions.

If you prefer to watch the games from the comfort of your own sofa, they’ve also dropped a tailored line-up across UK Tesco supermarket kiosks. The grab-and-go range features a Cheeseburger Sushi Roll (£6.95) packed with black pepper beef, nacho cheese, and burger gherkins, alongside Fiery Buffalo Bites (£6.75) coated in Sauce Shop’s Buffalo hot sauce.

Samantha Kemp, Marketing Director at YO!, said: “With a huge Summer of football ahead, we know that people will be looking for exciting food options wherever they’re watching the action. That’s why YO! decided to go all in this year, launching the new It’s Game Time menu in all restaurants and kiosks nationwide. And what better way to celebrate than to bring all the tastes of the host nations into one menu, giving it a classic YO! twist with Asian fusion? It’s the perfect way to kick things off.”

The full menu is live right now across all restaurants and supermarket kiosks for the rest of the summer.
