Filey, the charming former fishing village, is set to host the eagerly anticipated Filey International Food Festival next month. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 8th June and Sunday, 9th June, as the event returns for the first of three scheduled weekends this year, promising a feast for all senses.
With a spectacular lineup of 65 stalls, the festival will showcase the crème de la crème of Yorkshire’s culinary delights, alongside select treats from further afield. The festivities will take place from 10am to 5pm at the Evron Centre and Crescent Gardens, offering visitors stunning views over Filey Bay while they indulge in gastronomic pleasures.
North Yorkshire Council’s Assistant Director for Economic Development, Ian Thompson, highlighted the festival’s significance, saying, “Filey International Food Festival attracts thousands of people to the town as the peak tourist season gets under way. It brings the community together and showcases independent businesses and organisations on our doorstep, including locally sourced seafood and Yorkshire ales.”
Thompson added, “We hope it will benefit the wider economy in and around Filey, from increased hotel bookings to supporting independent shops and restaurants. It promises to be a fun-filled weekend to suit all ages, so I’d encourage everybody to come along.”

The festival promises a diverse array of tempting offerings. Seafood lovers can savour fresh lobster, crab, or caviar paired with prosecco, while cheese enthusiasts will find locally made varieties to delight their palates. Other culinary highlights include gourmet Scotch eggs, homemade cakes, curry sauces, chutneys, jams, and artisan chocolates.
For those with a taste for international cuisine, street food from Greece, Thailand, Italy, Germany, South Africa, and the Caribbean will be on offer. A dedicated Yorkshire real ale bar with seating will be situated in Crescent Gardens, along with stalls selling pies, gin, flavoured vodka, meats, and an assortment of vegan and gluten-free treats.
Following the June event, Filey International Food Festival will return on 10th-11th August and 12th-13th October, providing further opportunities to enjoy this celebrated event.
