Leeds has a new restaurant – and it’s one that’s already earned a serious reputation elsewhere in Yorkshire.
Domo, the award-winning Sardinian restaurant founded by husband-and-wife team Sarah Elliott-Busceddu and Raffaele Busceddu in Sheffield in 2019, opened its first Leeds venue on Friday, 5th June 2026, welcoming its first guests to the landmark Tower Works development on the city’s South Bank. And if the opening weekend is anything to go by, it’s going to be one of Leeds’ most talked-about new dining destinations.
What Is Domo?

Domo is a Sardinian restaurant built around authentic regional cuisine, the Italian aperitivo tradition and the kind of warm, unhurried hospitality that makes you want to linger for hours. Since opening in Sheffield seven years ago, it has built a devoted following on the strength of food that’s made entirely in-house, from the pasta and bread to the sauces and desserts, paired with carefully selected Sardinian wines, beers and cocktails. It’s the kind of restaurant that feels genuinely personal, because it is: Raffaele is originally from Sardinia, and the menu, the drinks list and the interiors all reflect a deep and genuine connection to the island’s culinary heritage.
The Leeds venue brings all of that to a spectacular canal-side setting at Tower Works, one of the most exciting regeneration developments on Leeds’ South Bank. The restaurant features a striking central bar, an open kitchen and interiors inspired by the founders’ Sardinian roots – expect warm terracotta tones, natural materials and the kind of relaxed, sun-drenched atmosphere that feels particularly welcome in a Yorkshire June.
What’s On The Menu?

Domo’s Leeds menu centres on traditional Sardinian dishes made entirely in-house. Expect handmade pasta, regional antipasti and dishes showcasing the bold, herb-forward flavours of Sardinian cooking – think slow-cooked meats, fresh seafood, pecorino and flatbreads. The drinks list draws on Sardinian wine producers and features a selection of regional beers and Domo’s own cocktails, several of which incorporate Sardinian spirits and botanicals.
The Leeds venue offers all-day dining, weekday lunch menus and takeaway options, alongside a particularly appealing weekday aperitivo offer: selected drinks priced at £7 from the late afternoon onwards. If you’re working nearby on the South Bank or passing through after a day in the city centre, it’s a very civilised way to end a working day.
What Sarah Said

Co-founder Sarah Elliott-Busceddu described an opening weekend that exceeded expectations on every front:
“We’ve been delighted to see bookings flying in and to welcome so many people through the doors to experience Domo for the very first time.
“I’m immensely proud of our entire team, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes and pulled out all the stops to prepare for launch. Opening a new restaurant is always a huge undertaking, and their passion, dedication and attention to detail have made this possible.
“We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone in Leeds for the warm welcome we’ve received. From local residents and businesses to our very first guests, the support has been overwhelming. We’re excited to become part of this fantastic city and look forward to welcoming many more people to Domo in the months ahead.”
