Fresh Flavours Arrive at Dobbies York with New Summer Menu

Dobbies Garden Centres has unveiled its brand-new summer menu at the York store, offering a fresh take on seasonal dining with a mix of lighter lunches, hearty classics and sweet treats.

The new dishes focus on what’s in season, offering customers a variety of options, whether they’re looking for something light or a more substantial main course. The Cheddar cheese and tomato quiche, as well as the goat’s cheese and red onion puff pastry tart, are two new lighter options, both served with a dressed side salad and slaw. For those looking for something more traditional, the chicken, ham and leek pie is available with seasonal vegetables and rich gravy.

On the sweeter side, there’s plenty to tempt. New additions include a white chocolate and raspberry roulade – a meringue filled with cream, raspberry sauce and white chocolate pieces – a raspberry tart with a butter crust pastry, and a baked mixed fruit cheesecake topped with grapes, blueberries, raspberries and kiwi.

The drinks menu is also getting a summer refresh. Dobbies’ banana iced chocolate drink is back by popular demand, and there’s an iced salted caramel latte for coffee lovers. For something fruitier, iced lemonade coolers in mango, cherry and strawberry are now available.

Another highlight of the summer offering is the Heritage Afternoon Tea, launched to mark Dobbies’ 160th birthday. It features three tiers of sweet and savoury bites, including Dobbies’ famous scones, along with unlimited tea and coffee refills.

Dave Worthington, Head of Food Development at Dobbies, said: “Our brand-new summer menu is bursting with flavour, offering customers in York the chance to enjoy an array of seasonal dishes using produce that’s in season.

“The Cheddar cheese and tomato quiche and the goat’s cheese and red onion puff pastry tart are two of our lighter lunches that we’re anticipating being popular. We also have brought back our banana iced chocolate milkshake due to popular demand, and hope that the variety in our indulgent drink range has something for everyone, whether it’s a sweet drink or a refreshing fruit cooler.”

Dobbies York also has a line-up of events coming soon, including a Father’s Day Sunday Lunch and a Grow-Your-Own Herb Planter experience on Sunday 15 June.
