Popeyes® UK is set to spice up Leeds city centre with the grand opening of its brand-new restaurant on Commercial Street at 11 am on Friday 4th April 2025. This marks the sixth Popeyes location in West Yorkshire and the 76th since the brand made its UK debut, proving just how much Brits have fallen for its Louisiana-style fried chicken.
As with every Popeyes launch, fans can expect an exciting celebration, complete with giveaways and a taste of that famous New Orleans hospitality. For those eager to get their hands on the legendary Chicken Sandwich, it pays to be early. The first three people in the queue will score free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year*, while the first 100 customers will receive a free Chicken Sandwich and exclusive Popeyes® UK merchandise.
Popeyes® openings have become known for drawing queues around the block, and with the success of its other Yorkshire locations, including Rotherham and Meadowhall, the team is expecting another big turnout in Leeds. Chicken lovers keen to secure a freebie are encouraged to arrive early to avoid missing out on the action.
From launch day onwards, guests can dine in or take away from the full Popeyes® menu, featuring fan favourites like the iconic Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps in Classic, Spicy, and BBQ. Every piece of chicken is marinated for 12 hours in the brand’s bold Louisiana seasoning before being hand-breaded and battered for that signature ‘Shatter Crunch’. To top it off, classic sides like biscuits and Cajun gravy complete the experience.
Leeds foodies will also get to try Popeyes® latest additions – the Saucin’ Boneless and Hot Wings range. Available from day one, these come coated in bold, New Orleans-inspired flavours like cheesy Garlic Parm, smoky BBQ, and fiery Buffalo, delivering a saucy twist on the much-loved menu.
For those who fancy an early morning bite, Popeyes® will be rolling out its Breakfast menu from Saturday 5th April. Available daily from 8 am to 11 am, the breakfast line-up includes a special meal deal for just £1.99 – a Chicken Brekkie Roll, Cajun Hash Brown, and a drink. It’s halal-friendly and exclusively available via the Popeyes® UK app.

Located at 5-6 Commercial Street, Leeds, LS1 6AL, the new restaurant will bring 80 new jobs to the local area. It boasts 66 seats spread across three floors, self-service kiosks, and collection points for app and online orders.
