Following the successful launch of Popeyes® UK first Drive-Thru restaurant in Rotherham, Popeyes® has today announced the launch of its Barnsley Drive-Thru, opening later this summer.
The American fried chicken restaurant Popeyes® saw its busiest launch globally for the first UK Drive-Thru in Rotherham, with customers queuing from 4am to get their hands on the famous Louisiana Chicken Sandwich, and the brand has now announced its second restaurant in Yorkshire will soon follow suit.
Chicken fans will be able to experience Popeyes® world-famous ‘shatter crunch’ for themselves once they get their hands on the mouth-watering menu available at the Drive-Thru, including the iconic Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich which contains its signature 12-hour marinated chicken, and original Southern biscuits and gravy.
What’s more, Popeyes® will also be serving their brand-new breakfast menu, including the Big Breakfast Rolls [A sausage patty, egg, streaky bacon, and American cheese in a soft bun], a variety of sausage, bacon, egg and cheese muffins, cajun hash browns and their famous Louisiana buttermilk biscuits served with cinnamon sugar or Nutella®.
The Drive-Thru will officially open its lanes to the public later this summer with queues expected from the early hours of the morning following the success of the first Drive-Thru in Rotherham on launch week.
Popeyes® UK is set to pull out all the stops to showcase its Southern hospitality as it brings a taste of Louisiana to Barnsley. The all-new Drive-Thru is the brand’s 10th opening in 2023 and marks the chain’s 29th opening since landing in Stratford in 2021.

The new restaurant will be located at The Peel Centre in Barnsley. Plans include 86 seats indoors and 24 outside, a dual-ordering lane to reduce expected vehicle queues, kerbside collection from specifically designated bays when you order online via the Popeyes website and car park for customers who would like to eat inside the restaurant.
Popeyes will be expanding their Drive Thru restaurant offering throughout 2023, with two more openings in Northampton and Cardiff Bay earlier in the summer.
