Leeds is about to welcome the irresistible taste of New Orleans as Popeyes® UK prepares to open a brand-new flagship restaurant in the city centre later this year. Located on Commercial Street, this new eatery will mark the brand’s 7th location in Yorkshire. It promises to deliver its famous Louisiana fried chicken alongside over 80 new job opportunities for the local community.
The Leeds restaurant is part of Popeyes® UK’s ambitious plan to nearly double its footprint by opening 45+ new locations nationwide by the end of 2025. Following the success of its delivery kitchen, which launched in Leeds in May 2024, this flagship site will allow residents to enjoy the full Popeyes® experience, whether dining in or taking away.
Fans can look forward to the brand’s legendary menu, featuring the iconic Chicken Sandwich, crispy Tenders, and the popular Signature Chicken Wraps in Classic, Spicy, and BBQ flavours. Every piece of chicken is marinated for 12 hours on-site with a blend of Louisiana herbs and spices, hand-breaded, and battered to perfection to create Popeyes®’ signature “shatter crunch.”
In addition to its main menu, the Leeds restaurant will serve a full breakfast menu, blending British classics with a New Orleans twist. Highlights include the indulgent Big Cajun Roll, crispy Cajun Hash Browns, and buttery biscuits topped with Nutella.

The Leeds opening forms part of Popeyes® UK’s wider 2025 expansion strategy, which includes new restaurants in major cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, and Manchester. These openings are set to create approximately 2,500 jobs across the UK as the company aims to surpass £200m in sales for the year.
Chief Executive Officer of Popeyes® UK, Tom Crowley, said the company’s growth in 2024 was transformational, with 33 new locations opening and sales doubling to over £118m. “Our ambitious roll-out strategy will see us open, on average, close to one new site per week in the coming 12 months. We are excited to bring our New Orleans spirit to Leeds and other locations across the UK while welcoming thousands of new team members to support our journey.”
