The Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton has closed today for a £230,000 refurbishment and will reopen next month as a stadium-style ‘Grandstand’ sports pub.
The significant investment by Marston’s will transform the much-loved community venue with market-leading technology. Upgrades include multiple massive screens, an immersive state-of-the-art sound system, and flexible tiered seating designed to guarantee clear views of all the action. The pub’s beer garden is also receiving new TV screens, with table ordering available via the Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app.
Inside, the pub will be decorated with local sports memorabilia. The team is calling on the community to share photographs and items celebrating local sports stars and teams from past and present. Local sports teams will also be able to apply for a ‘Black Card’, offering access to exclusive deals, endless chips on team nights, and rewards for celebrating match wins.

Alongside a refreshed drinks lineup featuring two-pint cups for draught beers, the venue is introducing a new ‘Match Day Menu’. The food menu will focus on hand-held bites like chicken wings and nachos, plus pub staples such as fish and chips, grills, and burgers.
“We are so excited about the plans to re-open as a Grandstand pub,” said Operations Manager Zoe Eastwood. “We know our locals are sporting mad and can’t wait to be able to offer them the best possible experience when they can visit us again.”
The Mustard Pot will show all major sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, and horse racing, alongside classic pub games and community events.
The pub reopens on 4th November with its brand-new look.
