Boojum has officially launched its highly anticipated Cholula Spice Bag, putting a Mexican-inspired twist on the viral internet food phenomenon.
The limited-edition dish rolled out yesterday, Wednesday 20th May 2026, across all stores in Leeds, the UK, and Ireland, and will remain on the menu until the end of August. The “Spice Bag” concept originally originated in a Dublin Chinese takeaway in 2006 and has since evolved into a massive cult trend, racking up over 100,000 monthly TikTok searches across the UK.
Boojum’s version combines three of the chain’s most popular ingredients: Cholula Hot Honey Chicken, crispy Mexican Spiced Patatas, and sautéed fajita vegetables. It comes with an optional garnish pot of fresh chillies and spring onions. True to tradition, the ingredients are loaded into a paper bag, allowing customers to shake it up, tear it open, and eat it straight from the bag as a portable summer meal.
