Handcrafted in Hawes using local milk, Wensleydale Blue is known for its creamy, mellow flavour, making it an ideal introduction to blue cheese while still satisfying seasoned cheese lovers. The cheese has grown in popularity over the past year and recently took home the title of ‘Best Blue Veined Cheese’ at the 2024 International Cheese Awards, beating competitors from across the UK and beyond.
Sandra Bell, Marketing Manager at Wensleydale Creamery, said: “Seeing our Wensleydale Blue go from strength to strength, from its prestigious award win to expanding retail presence in Sainsbury’s, is testament to the quality of the cheese. Its creamy and mellow flavour makes it a great entry point for those new to blue cheese, with great appeal to blue cheese lovers too, so we’re thrilled to have secured another national listing. We’re excited to see our Wensleydale Blue on shelves nationwide, making it available for more to enjoy.”
