This Friday (29th September), American fried chicken restaurant, Popeyes® UK, is officially opening the doors to its newest drive-thru restaurant, in Barnsley.
Popeyes® Barnsley will officially open at 11am on Friday 29th September. Popeyes® saw its most successful opening to date out of 4,000 restaurants globally when it opened the first UK drive-thru in Rotherham in May, and last week customers queued for more than 18 hours ahead of the first Popeyes® opening in Scotland. The new Barnsley restaurant is expected to be equally popular, so guests are encouraged to arrive early to be in with a chance of winning exclusive prizes.
The all-new American fried chicken restaurant will be located at The Peel Centre, Barnsley, and will mark the brand’s 13th opening in 2023, and the 30th opening since landing in the UK in November 2021.
To celebrate the launch, Popeyes® will pull out all the stops to showcase its Southern hospitality. On opening day the first 3 people in the queue, (both in vehicles and on foot), will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year. Additionally, the first 25 vehicles within the drive-thru lane and the first 25 pedestrians within the eat-in queue will also be rewarded with a free Chicken Sandwich and exclusive Popeyes® UK drive-thru merchandise.
Not only that, to celebrate the launch of its new breakfast menu, Popeyes® will also be offering free breakfast muffins to the first 25 cars in the queue at the new drive-thru on Saturday 30th September. Breakfast will start at 8am, including the brand new Big Cajun breakfast roll, cajun hash browns and indulgent Nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.
Renowned for its Chicken Sandwich that ‘broke the internet’ when it launched in the US and its world-famous ‘shatter crunch’ chicken, the Barnsley drive-thru restaurant will offer the brand’s full mouth-watering menu, which includes the much-loved Signature Louisiana Chicken, Signature Wraps, Chicken tenders, Hot Wings, and Popeyes® Biscuits with gravy and more, seven days a week. The Barnsley restaurant will also serve its brand-new breakfast menu from 8am to 11am each day.
