Stuzzi to host an exclusive evening of prestigious wine and authentic dishes

Having just celebrated the third anniversary of its Leeds venue, Stuzzi is now gearing up to welcome Gaja – one of Italy’s most prestigious wine producers. Wednesday 23rd March will see the Italian small plate restaurant host an intimate evening of wine, grappa and carefully selected regional dishes.

There’ll be a five-course tasting menu to complement Gaja’s unique portfolio, with each plate crafted to bring out the best authentic Italian flavours. Gaja Brand Ambassador, Francesca Cioce, will be on hand to guide guests through each wine offering insights into the producer’s vineyards across Italy.

Founded in 1859, Gaja is widely recognised as one of the most transformative forces in the Piemonte region of Italy – not to mention the country as a whole. In 1994, the family business bought its first vineyards outside Piedmonte, marking the start of an expansion into Tuscany and beyond.

The company’s most recent venture saw it move into the Mount Etna region of Sicily, a much-admired area with high potential for producing great wine. Here – guided by wine aficionado, Alberto Graci – Gaja began making IDDA, a wine named after the Sicilian word for ‘she’, and referencing the powerful volcano itself.

Now, in partnership with Stuzzi’s top chefs, Gaja will bring some of its premium wines to life for an exclusive Leeds audience. This marks another Stuzzi showcase of one of Italy’s top producers, in line with the venue’s commitment to championing traditional cooking techniques and taking customers on a journey beyond the country’s tourist traps.

JimBob from Stuzzi, said:

“We’re really excited to be collaborating with Gaja to give diners such a rare opportunity to taste some incredible wines. The five-course menu has been carefully put together to complement each drink, with a range of flavours and vintages set to showcase the very best of Gaja’s portfolio. As a restaurant, we’re proud to celebrate authentic Italian cuisine, and pairing it with some of the best wine and grappa around is the perfect way to make that happen.”

The evening is priced at £85 per head, which includes five courses plus a selection of Gaja wines and grappa throughout the evening. Spaces are limited, so give Stuzzi a call on 0113 2455323 now to book your table and avoid disappointment.
