Sheffield building controls company BGES Group has used its annual get together to support its favourite local cause – The Children’s Hospital Charity.
The company held a charity raffle as part of their Business Update Day, a company-wide staff and supplier engagement event which sets out BGES Group’s vision for the future.
Raffle prizes were donated by the company’s suppliers and included a night in a luxury hotel, an iPad, a Nintendo Switch, a golf day, Amazon vouchers and food & wine hampers. Raffle tickets sold totalled £555, which BGES will match, bringing the total donation to £1110.
Funding life-saving equipment
Sheffield Children’s is a special place for many BGES Group colleagues, especially those whose families have benefitted from world-class treatment at the hospital.
The company will also be supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity’s iconic Snowflake Appeal for the third time this year. A BGES Group snowflake will sparkle on one of several local sites, including Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Sheffield City Hall, Crystal Peaks, Becton and Ryegate Centre.
Over the past seven years, the award-winning snowflake display has raised over £1m for Sheffield Children’s Hospital, funding life-saving equipment, play equipment, a Vitamin D Analyser as well as three world-class new wards.
Since it started supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity, BGES Group has raised a total of £4110.
Business Update Day
BGES Group’s Business Update Day, held on 30th September, is an annual event which looks ahead to the future of the industry and upskills staff on the latest technologies. The day included chats and demonstrations on new products from YESSS Electrical, Titan and ABB, and included training on BGES Group’s new suite of smart building products, ASSURE. Staff had the chance to reflect on a successful year for BGES Group and join the senior management team in shaping the company’s future direction.
Gareth Barber, Managing Director of BGES Group comments: “We’re always looking to give something back to our community, so our Business Update Day really wouldn’t have been complete without supporting our favourite cause – The Children’s Hospital Charity. We are looking forward to raising more funds as part of our Snowflake Appeal commitment.”
