The wildly popular festive concert series Christmas By Candlelight is officially expanding into Yorkshire and the Humber for December 2026, bringing West End vocals and live music to some of the region’s most iconic historic venues.
Since launching in 2023, the high-energy, feel-good show has consistently sold out across the UK. For the 2026 holiday season, organisers have confirmed 4 historic venues across the region will host a massive run of 25 live performances. The spectacular locations scheduled to be illuminated by hundreds of flickering candles include:
- Leeds Minster
- Selby Abbey
- Hull Minster
- Ripon Cathedral
The 2026 touring programme features five distinct themed productions: the classic Christmas By Candlelight, ABBA Christmas, Bublé Christmas, Motown Christmas, and Rat Pack – A Swingin’ Christmas. West End performer Ben Purkiss and local Yorkshire singer Dan Conway will front the productions alongside a full live band.
Simon Gordon, Director at Concerts By Candlelight, said:
“What started as a small idea has grown far beyond anything we ever imagined, and we never take that support for granted. We’re so grateful to everyone who returns each Christmas, brings family and friends along, and helps create such a special atmosphere at every show.”
With demand expected to be exceptionally high, an early access ticket release is scheduled for 22nd May, followed by the general public sale on 29th May 2026.
