Harewood House has announced that children will go free during the October half-term, running from 24th October to 1st November 2026.
While the main house remains closed to prepare for its winter Magic at the Mansion installation, the estate’s 140 acres of grounds will host a lineup of Halloween activities. Family highlights include the Spells and Sparkles Trail on the North Lawn – where children help resident witch Bessie Broomstick locate missing items – alongside daily outdoor broomstick-making workshops at the Sylvascope Treehouse.
Additional scheduled events feature a Spooky Tree Spot-it Trail, daily Mysterious Trees talks hosted by the garden team, Autumnal Safari Bags for young nature spotters, and a spooky-themed Lego Club on 1st November. Adventure Cinema will also screen Hocus Pocus outdoors on the North Lawn on Saturday 24th October.
For working parents, the Harewood Holiday Club will run from 27th to 29th October for children aged 7 to 11 (£40 per child per day), featuring potion brewing, monster sculpting, and pirate costume-making.
“As autumn leaves transform the landscape and spooky season draws near, Harewood is the perfect place to make memories together,” said a spokesperson for Harewood House Trust.
Advance online adult tickets are priced at £22.55, with free entry for children and Harewood Members. Concession pricing of £3 is available for visitors in receipt of Universal Credit, Pension Credit, DLA, or PIP.
