Following the widespread success of its first two Jobs Open Days, prominent North Yorkshire sausage manufacturer HECK! has announced it will host its third major recruitment event tomorrow, Saturday 27th June 2026. The open day aims to give local jobseekers a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore thriving careers with the rapidly growing family food brand.
Previous events held at the company’s Lime Lane headquarters in Kirklington, near Bedale, drew massive crowds from across the region. Attendees were given exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the facility, alongside the chance to connect directly with existing staff and discover the diverse range of paths available within the business.
As one of North Yorkshire’s largest private sector employers, HECK! is actively trying to buck a difficult national hiring trend. Employers across the region continue to face steep recruitment hurdles, with roughly 25% of all local vacancies proving difficult to fill due to severe skills shortages, limited applicant pools, and ongoing candidate attraction challenges, according to the York and North Yorkshire Labour Market Analysis. HECK!’s highly personal, face-to-face recruitment strategy is designed specifically to break down those barriers and seamlessly bridge the gap between local talent and rewarding employment.
The strategy is already proving immensely successful; since launching the targeted Jobs Open Days earlier this year, the company has successfully extended 22 formal job offers. The high success rate emphasises the enormous benefit of letting prospective employees experience the day-to-day workplace culture firsthand and ask questions before applying.
The upcoming event marks the latest phase of HECK!’s long-term investment in regional employment, bolstering the local community while simultaneously strengthening the long-term resilience of North Yorkshire’s food manufacturing industry.
Running from 10am to 12pm tomorrow at the Kirklington site, attendees will be able to tour the active factory floor and explore several open career paths. The brand is currently seeking candidates for a variety of roles, including Mixing Room Supervisors, Picking and Packing Team Members, and both Day and Night Hygiene Team Members.
