Get ready for a slice of Bavaria with a Yorkshire twist as HECK’s Oktoberfest returns this weekend, promising to be bigger and better than ever. Taking place on Saturday 5th October from 2pm to 8pm at HECK’s headquarters in Bedale, this family-friendly festival is packed with delicious food, fantastic drinks, and live entertainment that’ll transport you to Munich without leaving Yorkshire.
A Yorkshire Take on Oktoberfest

This year’s event will take place in a giant heated Oktoberfest tent, complete with traditional bench seating, ensuring you’ll stay warm and cosy while enjoying the festivities. Expect all the fun of a classic Bavarian Oktoberfest, but with a Northern twist! Instead of their usual pork bangers, HECK will be serving up footlong Bratwursts, alongside Steins of German Pilsener and a range of other drinks, including a Wine, Gin & Jagër station and plenty of soft drinks.
Live Entertainment and Fun for All Ages

The day will be soundtracked by Yorkshire’s very own Oompah Band, who’ll be performing traditional Bavarian drinking songs and dances, as well as some familiar tunes given an Oompah makeover. Dressed in authentic lederhosen, these talented musicians will bring a true Oktoberfest vibe to Bedale. Feel free to join in the spirit of things and come dressed in lederhosen or dirndls—there are prizes up for grabs for the best-dressed on the day!
There’ll also be classic Oktoberfest games to enjoy, adding to the fun for all ages. And don’t worry about leaving your furry friends behind—well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to join in the celebration.
A Family-Friendly Feast

Sausages are at the heart of HECK’s business, and with beer being the perfect partner for a Bratwurst, the HECK team couldn’t resist bringing a taste of Munich’s Oktoberfest to Yorkshire. Amy Seed from HECK said:
“Last year’s Oktoberfest was a sell-out, and this year we’re back with a fun day out that’s even bigger and better. With sausages at the heart of our business and beer the perfect partner for a Bratwurst, we wanted to bring some of this Munich magic a little closer to home – all with a Yorkshire twist of course!”
