Huddersfield town centre is gearing up for the return of its most unique annual event, as Get Your Geek On takes over the town later this month.
The completely free event will return for its fifth year on Saturday, 27th June 2026, running from 10 am until 4 pm. Organised by Huddersfield BID Ltd, the celebration transforms the streets into a massive interactive playground dedicated to comic books, sci-fi, gaming, anime, fantasy, and cosplay culture.
The 2026 edition features a mix of returning attractions alongside several brand-new themed areas. Visitors can explore a retro arcade zone, movie car displays, live wrestling matches, axe-throwing, and a dedicated Jurassic Zone. New additions to the schedule for this year include a Wizarding Zone, an Adventure Zone featuring an accessibility-friendly climbing wall with soft archery, and a special appearance by the K-Pop Demon Hunters, inspired by the global animation trend.
The event regularly draws thousands of pop-culture fans and families from across Yorkshire, driving footfall directly into local town centre shops and businesses. Organisers are encouraging attendees to dress up in cosplay for the day, which creates a highly distinct atmosphere across the main shopping districts.

It is a fantastic showcase of our town and the creativity of the community.”
