Travellers in Yorkshire now have even more reason to pack their bags, as Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has officially launched two brand-new easyJet services to Palma and Malaga. The first flight to Palma took off on Sunday 30th March, with Malaga following closely behind on Wednesday 2nd April.
Passengers on these inaugural flights were treated to a smooth send-off, with special LBA golf caddies assisting with hand luggage as they boarded. The two routes add to LBA’s growing network, making it easier than ever for holidaymakers to jet off to sunny Spain.
Palma, the stunning capital of Mallorca, is a dream destination for those looking to soak up the Mediterranean sun. With its historic Old Town, magnificent La Seu Cathedral, and a thriving market scene, there’s plenty to see and do. Food lovers can explore a variety of top-tier restaurants, while golf enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Palma offers some of the best courses in Europe. Just a 2-hour and 45-minute flight from LBA, it’s the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Meanwhile, Malaga, nestled along Spain’s famous Costa del Sol, promises golden beaches, delicious cuisine, and a rich cultural scene. Visitors can explore the birthplace of Picasso, wander through charming historic streets, or simply unwind by the sea with a cocktail in hand. The city’s appeal stretches beyond sunseekers too—golfers will find themselves spoiled for choice with world-class courses nearby. A short 3-hour flight from LBA makes Malaga a fantastic getaway option.
Flights to Palma operate every Wednesday at 8:20 pm, returning on Sundays at 7:10 am, with additional flights available from 2nd June on Mondays and Fridays. The Malaga service departs every Wednesday at 5 pm, with extra Sunday flights from 1st June. With fares starting from just £24 per person, these routes offer an affordable escape to the Spanish sun.

To celebrate the launch, LBA is hosting an exciting golfing challenge at Leeds Dock on Wednesday 9th April. Just a day before The Masters kicks off, participants will have the chance to win a range of prizes, including an easyJet holiday. A special guest is also set to make an appearance, adding to the excitement of the day.
John Cunliffe, Commercial and Strategy Director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We’re pleased these new easyJet routes to Palma and Malaga will provide more flight options for our passengers. Both destinations are popular choices, and we’re delighted that easyJet has recognised that customers from Leeds Bradford Airport are looking to explore more destinations.”
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “Our two new routes to Palma and Malaga further strengthen our offering at Leeds Bradford Airport, providing our customers in the region with more choice and great value when booking holidays to two of Spain’s most popular destinations.”
