Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural Jobs Open Day, HECK! has announced it will be hosting a follow-up event on 2nd May between 10am and 12pm, offering even more opportunities for local jobseekers to join the rapidly growing family food brand.
The first open day, held in February, attracted a strong turnout from hundreds of people across the region, all eager to explore careers at the Bedale-based firm. Attendees were given behind-the-scenes access to the company’s operations, met with team members and learned about the wide range of roles available.
This second event, again taking place at the company’s Kirklington HQ on Lime Lane, will offer the chance to meet the team, tour the factory and learn about a range of new hands-on roles the company is looking to fill, including team leaders and team members across the mixing room, picking, hygiene and production departments.

“We were thrilled with the response to our first Jobs Open Day,” said HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble. “It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic people and to showcase what makes working here so unique. Food production is exciting, fast-paced and rewarding and we’re excited to open our doors again on 2 May and to continue welcoming new talent into our team.”
Case study: Jackie’s journey to a new career

One standout success story from the first event is Jackie, a local resident who attended the Open Day out of curiosity and left with a job offer.
“Attending the first HECK! jobs open day was a turning point for me. I initially stepped into a production supervisor role, but my background in quality control quickly came into play. Before long, I was given the opportunity to move into a Technical Coordinator position.
“With my experience from PFF Innovations Plastics in Keighley and years in quality assurance across different industries, it felt like a natural fit. Now, I’m proud to support audits, inspections and equipment calibrations across the business, helping strengthen food safety and quality systems so our customers can always receive the highest standard of product.”
Jackie’s story highlights the Open Day’s impact in connecting people with meaningful employment opportunities in a supportive and engaging environment.
What to expect on the day: Site tours, team meet-and-greets, a short interview and a behind-the-scenes look at the production line in action.
Jobseekers of all experience levels are encouraged to attend and discover the variety of roles on offer. Whether looking for a fresh start or the next step in their career, attendees will have the opportunity to experience HECK! culture firsthand.
As one of the largest private employers in the area, HECK! plays a significant role in North Yorkshire’s dynamic food manufacturing sector. Its continued recruitment drive not only supports local jobs but also strengthens an industry that is central to the region’s economic identity and long-term productivity.
