Popular sports clothing and footwear retailer JD is set to open a massive new store at Meadowhall next year, making it the largest JD location in Yorkshire and the second largest in the UK. The new store will span an impressive 29,825 sq ft, triple the size of its current Meadowhall store.
Shoppers from Sheffield and beyond will soon have the opportunity to explore an even wider range of global sports brands, including Nike, adidas, and The North Face. The store will also feature regular in-store activations and exciting experiences for customers to take part in, with more details to be revealed closer to the opening.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, commented, “It’s brilliant to announce that JD is opening one of their biggest stores in the country here at Meadowhall. We know how popular the brand has been with shoppers over the years, so we have no doubt the new state-of-the-art store will be a hit with visitors.”
He continued, “Meadowhall is a destination for shoppers across the UK, and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the experience of our visitors. The exciting large-scale openings we’ve announced recently, including Sephora, allows us to do just that.”

This exciting new store is part of a series of developments at Meadowhall, which is also set to see the relocation of Superdrug to one of its largest stores in the UK. Superdrug’s new store, opening in May, will introduce its Beauty Studio concept, offering a range of new products, treatments, and services, including piercings. Ann Summers is also upgrading to a larger, newly designed store on the Lower Level High Street.
