Couples in North Yorkshire are set to embark on even more magical wedding days with the launch of new services by the North Yorkshire Council, aimed at adding personalised touches to ceremonies.
The council’s latest initiative allows couples to tailor their wedding or civil service to their specific desires across hundreds of approved wedding venues and register offices in the county.
Among the newly introduced services is an online ceremony planner, empowering couples to personalise various aspects of their special day, from vows and promises to music selections and readings.
Moreover, couples can handpick up to five songs to accompany their ceremony, along with selecting a reading by a favorite author, poet, or even their own writings, fostering an atmosphere of intimacy and individuality.
While adhering to the necessary legal requirements for wedding and civil ceremonies, the council’s innovative services grant couples the freedom to express their love and commitment in a deeply personal manner through tailored vows. Additionally, couples have the flexibility to refine ceremony details, with changes accepted up to four weeks before the event.
Expressing enthusiasm for the new services, North Yorkshire Council’s executive member for registration services, Cllr Greg White, emphasised the significance of ensuring that every couple’s wedding day is truly unforgettable. He stated, “Anyone’s wedding day is a momentous occasion, and we want to make sure that couples are given every opportunity to ensure that their ceremony is as special and memorable as possible.”
North Yorkshire boasts over 200 approved wedding venues, with the council overseeing eight register offices situated in Harrogate, Malton, Northallerton, Richmond, Scarborough, Selby, Skipton, and Whitby.
