Skipton To Host Family-Focused Sports Festival

If you’re looking for a way to burn off some Bank Holiday energy, the Skipton Multisport Festival is heading to Aireville Park on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May.

The event is the brainchild of the Brownlee Foundation, set up by Yorkshire’s own Alistair and Jonny Brownlee to prove that you don’t need to be an Olympic athlete to enjoy sport. It’s all about the “Gateway to the Dales” hosting a massive weekend of inclusive, community-focused fun.

The best part? All profits go directly back into the foundation to help give more school kids free access to sport, no matter their background.

Weekend Highlights

Saturday: Runs & Road Rides

  • Junior Runs: Perfect for the kids, with a 1km (U10) dash for £10 or a 5km (U16) for £14.
  • Adult 8km Trail Run: A gorgeous off-road route through the park for £20.
  • Sportive Cycling: Fancy the open road? Take on a 60km Short route (£30) or a 100km Long route (£35) out into the Dales.

Sunday: Triathlons & Junior Cycling

  • Super Sprint Triathlon: A brilliant entry-level challenge (200m swim / 10km bike / 2.5km run) for £45.
  • Junior Closed Road Sportive: 30 minutes of safe, traffic-free cycling for £15.

Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned pro, the festival is designed to be welcoming, scenic, and, most importantly, fun! It’s a fab way to support a brilliant cause while enjoying the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine in Skipton’s Aireville Park.
