Supercar Experience Returns to Meadowhall this Bank Holiday Weekend

Meadowhall visitors will have the opportunity to see a selection of premium, vintage and famous cars up close this bank holiday weekend as its popular Supercars event returns, in partnership with Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Supercar Driver.

The event will see over 45 of the most impressive motors in the country visit the centre, visitors can get up close and personal with a whole host of incredible cars, as well as a line-up packed with fun for all the family.

The iconic models in the fleet include the McLaren 765LT, Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Aventador and Porsche 911 Carrera. Those attending the event will have the chance to take a ten-mile passenger ride in a supercar thanks to the Sporting Bears Motor Club, starting from £20.

Visitors will also be able to meet real-life heroes in their fire engines and army trucks, with a selection of emergency services vehicles on show.

For younger fans, Lightning McQueen and the Batmobile will all be attending, giving those of all ages a special experience with their favourite on-screen cars.

Throughout the day, there will also be a range of activities to keep families entertained, from epic games to face painting.

Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “We’re always looking for exciting experiences to bring to the centre and we can’t wait to welcome some of the world’s most iconic and well-loved cars back to Meadowhall for our visitors to enjoy.

“The funds raised through admission and donations will help to make such a difference to the children and families that Bluebell Wood supports. The hospice is a long-term partner of ours and does incredible work in our community, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to our visitors for their continued generosity and support.”

Adam Thorby, Managing Director at Supercar Driver, added: “It is easy to take owning sports and supercars for granted so the Supercar Experience has always been our way to share these cars with those who may not have had the opportunity to see them before, whilst raising meaningful funds for a very worthy cause.

“Meadowhall is the perfect venue for such an event and we are all very excited to return on Sunday.”

All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, an organisation which provides specialised care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Their much-loved George the Mascot will be meeting and greeting those attending throughout the day.

Beth Cole, Events Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, commented: “It’s an incredible feeling to be bringing back the fantastic Supercars event at Meadowhall once again.

“We’re always amazed and extremely grateful for the generosity of our local community, we look forward to welcoming visitors and raising vital funds to help continue supporting families when they need it the most.”

The Supercars event will run from 10am – 3pm on Sunday 26th May in Meadowhall’s Orange Zone 3 car park.  Tickets start from £3 per person for advance tickets and £4 on the day, with under 2’s going free.
