A Yorkshire mum has been chosen as the winner of a national competition to receive a year’s worth of fresh flowers from Aldi. Betty Day, a retired Home Care Officer from Hull, was nominated by her daughter Sarah as part of Aldi’s special Mother’s Day campaign earlier this year.
As the lucky winner, Betty will receive a monthly delivery of seasonal bouquets straight to her door, supplied by JZ Flowers, a local family-owned business based in Newport that has been a trusted Aldi supplier for over 30 years.
Betty said, “Finding out I’d won a year’s worth of flowers was such a lovely surprise. I enjoy gardening, and having fresh flowers around the house will be a wonderful treat. I’m very grateful to my daughter Sarah for nominating me, and to Aldi for choosing me as the winner.”
Aldi received over 500 heartfelt nominations from across the UK for its first-ever Mother’s Day flower giveaway. Julie Ashfield, Aldi’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the entries were “heartwarming” and praised Sarah’s nomination for standing out.
