Gargrave Pharmacy, located in Gargrave near Skipton, has been sold to independent buyer Qashif Ahmed, ensuring the future of the community pharmacy after its previous owners, Adrian and Clare Naylor, considered closing it as part of their retirement plans.
The sale was part of a wider transaction managed by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, which also included C.E Naylor Pharmacy in Brighouse and The Village Pharmacy in Nelson. The three pharmacies, which dispense a combined average of 13,215 items per month, have now all been acquired by new owners.
Tom Young, Senior Business Agent – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, said: “When Adrian and Clare first approached us, they were contemplating closing their three pharmacies, believing there wouldn’t be much of a market for them due to the ongoing cost pressures facing the pharmacy sector. We assured them that we could generate interest for all sites on a confidential basis.”
He added that a competitive bidding process attracted multiple offers for each branch, demonstrating the continued demand for pharmacies across the north of England.
While the sale price remains undisclosed, the transaction ensures that Gargrave Pharmacy and its sister sites will continue to serve their local communities under new ownership.
