Festive Fun for a Good Cause at Cats Protection’s Christmas Fayre

Cats Protection’s Leeds Cat Centre is bringing festive cheer to Gildersome with its annual Christmas Fayre, taking place on Saturday, 30 November, at St Peter’s Church, Church Street, from 10am to 1pm. The event promises fun for all ages while raising vital funds to support cats in need.

Visitors can enjoy games such as teddy and bottle tombolas, browse craft stalls for unique Christmas gifts, and even find treats for their feline companions. Seasonal cakes, sweet treats, and hot drinks will also be on offer to keep everyone in the festive spirit.

Centre Manager Laura Grice said, “These events are always fun, and we love sharing our love of cats with everyone as well as indulging in all things Christmas. All profits go directly to caring for cats and kittens at the centre, and with our growing waiting list, this support is crucial.”

Among the cats hoping for new homes this Christmas is Jasper, a 12-year-old seeking a quiet indoor space after a challenging transition into care. Jasper has undergone significant medical treatment, including surgery and medication for arthritis, and is now ready to settle into a peaceful retirement with a loving owner.

Pablo and Gusto, a bonded pair of sweet-natured cats with matching half-moustaches, are also looking for a home together. At 12 and 11 years old, these lifelong companions are inseparable, with shy Pablo finding comfort in Gusto’s presence.
