This independent family-run hotel in Robin Hood’s Bay offers spectacular coastal views and all-day menus of freshly prepared food. Victoria Hotel boasts a number of dining areas including an orangery with sea views, an informal lounge, a traditional bar and a gorgeous cliff-top garden with a patio area.

By far one of the best places to eat in Robin Hood’s Bay, Victoria Hotel serves scrumptious Sunday roasts, traditional afternoon teas, hearty homecooked lunches and much more! The sea view orangery is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic evening meal and the A La Carte menu (available 5 pm – 8:30 pm) features some truly delicious culinary creations, all made using locally sourced produce. The menu changes with the seasons but diners can expect to find a great selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, all expertly cooked and showcasing some of the area’s finest produce. The A La Carte menu is also available in the more informal but gloriously cosy Captain’s Lounge.

For traditional pub grub and fireside dining, take a seat at a table in Victoria Hotel’s ambient bar area. Food is served from 12 pm and 9 pm and the Bistro menu offers something to suit everyone. Think Fish & Chips, Whitby Scampi, juicy beefburgers and homemade pies. An excellent kids’ menu also offers a range of mini mains for £6.95 each.

The Grosvenor is a cosy hotel with a bar and extensive food menu which is available seven days a week. Offering all the pub grub classics throughout the day and at somewhat reasonable prices, this a great option for family meals and relaxed, no-frills lunches.

If you’re looking for something light, The Grosvenor offers a range of sandwiches priced from just £5.50 with favourite fillings such as Tuna Mayo, BLT and Steak with Caramelised Onions. Those seeking something more substantial will be spoiled for choice with delicious homecooked options including Lamb Shank, Gammon Steak, Beef Lasagne, Chicken Curry and Battered Cod all there to tempt the tastebuds.

Little ones are well catered for too, with a small selection of kid-sized meals including Chicken Nuggets, Steak Pie, Chicken Korma and more all available and priced at just 4.95.

The Bay Hotel is probably Robin Hood Bay’s most recognisable building. Situated at the end of Alfred Wainwright´s 192-mile Coast-to-Coast Walk from St. Bees in Cumbria, its history can be traced back to 1828.

This traditional pub features two bars, a family dining room and three guest rooms. Offering breathtaking sea views, a friendly welcome and a balcony for al fresco dining, this charming coastal inn is a lovely place to eat in Robin Hood’s Bay, all year round.

Food is served from lunchtime until 9 pm at night and The Bay Hotel even offers a takeaway service so tourists and holidaymakers can enjoy hearty meals at their self-catering accommodation. All the food at The Bay Hotel is reasonably priced and the main menu features a delicious array of fresh fish.

Start with Grilled Mackerel or Thai Spiced Mussels then move on to a tasty main of battered fish and chips or Crab Salad. If fish isn’t your thing then their simple main menu also includes options like Vegetable Curry and a giant Yorkshire pudding filled with sausages and mashed potatoes. There’s a daily specials board too so be sure to check that before you make your food choices. Past specials have included Homemade Parmos, Buttermilk Chicken Burgers and Pork Loin with Black Pudding.

The Flask Inn

Blacksmiths Hill, Near Robin Hood’s Bay, YO22 4QH

This 18th Century coaching house is just a short away from Robin Hood’s Bay, in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. It’s a popular place to stay with holidaymakers but equally popular with locals who frequent the friendly inn for great value home-cooked grub and evenings of live music and themed entertainment.

Food is served at The Flask Inn from lunchtime until late evening and the menu features an array of British classics as well as a few internationally inspired delights. Begin with Tempura King Prawns or a Brie, Red Onion and Caramelised Onion Tart then choose from a varied selection of delicious mains which include Tandoori Monkfish, Confit Duck Leg and Rump Steak Diane. Dessert options include traditional sponge puddings, tarts and brownies. Yummy! The Flask Inn boasts a superb reputation for its food so it’s a must-try for tourists.

The Cove

The Old Chapel, Chapel Street, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby YO22 4SQ

Housed in a converted chapel, The Cove is a contemporary cafe bar perched upon the edge of the sea wall. Again, this venue offers spectacular views of the bay and its idyllic location has led to it becoming a popular wedding venue.

If you’re visiting in the morning, you can order breakfast sandwiches until 11:30 am which will set you up for a scenic walk along the coast. For lunch, the cafe bar serves freshly baked scones and cakes, cold sandwiches such as Tuna Mayo and Roast Beef with Horseradish plus toasted ciabattas with a variety of filling options until 3:30 pm.

A small children’s menu of sandwiches and toasties is also available from 11:30 am until 3:30 pm and kids can eat for as little as £3.50.

From 11:45 until late evening, The Cove’s most popular food offerings are available – handcrafted sourdough pizzas with a range of tasty toppings.
