With its rich history, scenic coastline and a fabulous array of independent businesses, it’s no surprise that Whitby welcomes thousands upon thousands of UK holidaymakers each year. There’s so much to see and do in this pretty coastal town and the surrounding countryside is simply stunning. If you’re looking for a short break or week away in God’s own country then you should most certainly consider staying in the Whitby area. Whitby campsites offer the perfect base for those wishing to explore this beautiful area of the UK.

Facilities: Shower Blocks, Toilets, Baby Changing Facilities, Hairdryers, Pot Washing area, Freezer, Laundry Facilities

Broadings Farm is a working Sheep Farm with camping space for 70 caravans, split across several fields. Ideally situated just a mile from Whitby, it’s great for those who want to be in short walking distance of the town but far enough out to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding countryside. All the pitches here are hardstanding with their own electrical hookups. For those who prefer a few more home comforts, they also have two lovely holiday cottages which are available to book for a minimum of 3 nights.

Folly Gardens

Just a few minutes walk from the town centre and with direct access to the coastal path towards Robin Hood’s Bay, this campsite is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Yorkshire coast. Staithes, Runswick and Sandsend are just a short drive away too so your options for days out are far from limited. Electrical hook-ups for caravans, camper vans and motor homes are available for £5 per night. There are also other accommodation options available here, including a luxury ground floor apartment which is priced from £75 per night.

Facilities: Showers, Toilets, Washrooms, Kettle, Microwave, Fridge and Freezer.

A relaxed and pleasant Whitby campsite offering self-catering holiday accommodation and camping pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. The site is about 5 miles from the centre of Whitby and about 1 mile from pretty Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby is easily accessible via public transport as there is a bus stop directly outside the site for the main Whitby to Scarborough service. This campsite is situated on a working farm and offers panoramic views of the countryside from every single pitch.

This award-winning touring park just a mile outside of Whitby, has excellent facilities! Perched on the cliff tops and situated directly opposite Whitby Golf Club, this great site boasts spectacular coastal views and is close to all the wonderful amenities and attractions that Whitby has to offer. A family friendly site with its own Tennis Courts and playing field, this campsite in Whitby is just perfect for a family holiday by the sea.

Beacon Farm

Facilities: Showers, Toilets, Pot Washing area, Basic shop for essentials, Outdoor Play Area, Indoor Bouncy Castle, On-site cafe and Ice Cream Parlour

Home to the delicious Beacon Farm Ice Cream, Beacon Farm campsite is family-friendly and reasonably priced. The pitches here are well spaced out so tents are not crammed together. This leaves ample room for children to play safely near the tent when they’re not clambering over the play equipment at the on-site play area. With a little playground, a bouncy castle and a cafe serving some of the best traditional ice creams in Yorkshire, this one is great for kids! It’s one of the most family-focused Whitby campsites and they don’t tolerate raucous late-night behaviour. Always a bonus when you have little ones to think of. One of the best Whitby campsites for families!

Northcliffe Holiday Park

Bottoms Lane, High Hawsker, Whitby YO22 4LL

Facilities: Showers, Toilets, Dishwashing area, Laundry facilities, Play parks, Outdoor Games area, WIFI, Bar & Bistro

Popular holiday park, Northcliffe, is situated between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay. It’s essentially a family-friendly park with static caravans for hire, but it also offers seasonal touring pitches between March and November. Their all-weather gravel pitches vary in size and all include a WIFI package plus use of some of their excellent on-site amenities, including the outdoor gym and games area. The pitches here are incredibly popular so they operate a waiting list system. It’s best to apply well in advance to avoid missing out.

Bay Ness Farm

High Lane, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby YO22 4PJ

Facilities: Showers, Toilets, Pot Washing facilities

Set on the North West side of Robin Hood’s Bay, this hilltop campsite offers breathtaking views across the bay and towards Ravenscar. With wonderful scenic walks right on the doorstep and Whitby only a 10 minute drive away, this camp provides a holiday combining the best of the area’s countryside and seaside. The facilities here are minimal but excellent nonetheless. The real selling point for this campsite is its quiet and relaxed atmosphere which ensures campers can enjoy a truly tranquil holiday in stunning surroundings.
