If you’re hunting for fresh ways to keep older kids entertained over the summer holidays, two of Leeds’ top activity spots have stepped up with a great solution. Flight Club and Electric Shuffle are opening their doors to tweens and teens aged 12 and up throughout the summer, giving parents and older kids a chance to settle some friendly family rivalries over high-tech darts and shuffleboard.
We actually popped into Flight Club on South Parade last week to check out the setup, and we had an absolute blast testing out the camera-tracked Social Darts. Beyond the games, the food menu is well worth sticking around for – I highly recommend grabbing a sharing pizza and some hot dogs to fuel your session!
To keep things comfortable and stress-free, both venues are setting up dedicated family areas during session times, meaning groups with older kids can enjoy their games in their own space.
Flight Club takes traditional darts and gives it a high-tech spin with automatic camera scoring, instant screen replays, and fairground-inspired decor. They’ve got seven different game modes to try, including Limbo – a party classic where you have to score lower than the player before you to stay in the game. Family sessions run Sunday to Friday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm at 1-2 South Parade.
Over on The Headrow, Electric Shuffle brings custom camera tracking to shuffleboard, eliminating any debate over who actually won the round. Set inside a space filled with 1970s retro vibes, players can try out six different game modes, including Studio 21 (a Blackjack-inspired game) and The Edge (where you try to land your puck as close to the brink as possible without it falling off). Family sessions take place every Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm at 123 The Headrow.
