Thousands of visitors to Meadowhall’s annual Motor Show have helped raise £47,393 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice this year, taking the overall total raised past £150,000.
The event brought more than 100 vehicles to Meadowhall over the August bank holiday, featuring famous cars from film and television, supercars, and classic motors.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice provides specialist care and support for babies, children, and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as their families, across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire, and parts of North Lincolnshire.

This year’s fundraising, driven by a record-breaking number of ticket sales, will directly fund vital services. A donation of £500 to £600 helps fund 24 hours of nursing care, £180 helps create a lasting heartbeat music memory for a family, and £150 supports a bereavement or youth group session. Over the past four years, money raised through the Motor Show has funded hundreds of specialist bereavement sessions for parents and siblings.
“To have raised more than £150,000 for Bluebell Wood is something everyone involved can be incredibly proud of – it’s been fantastic to see the event go from strength to strength each year,” said Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall. “Every ticket bought, donation made and person who gives their time to the event helps contribute to the vital support the hospice provides, and this year’s total really shows what can be achieved when people come together to support such an important local cause.”
Heidi Hawkins, CEO of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Meadowhall and everyone who supported this year’s Motor Show. Fundraising like this forms such an important part of the wider support we rely on to continue providing specialist care to children and families across the region.”
