The team at a Pickering farm shop and café is celebrating after being shortlisted for a regional tourism award.
Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has reached the final in the ‘Taste’ category of the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards 2022.
Organised by the Yorkshire Post, the inaugural awards celebrate the best of Yorkshire’s hoteliers, B&Bs, restaurants, theme parks, visitor attractions and all businesses that attract tourists to the county. The ‘Taste’ award recognises the must-visit Yorkshire locations to ‘tempt the taste buds’.
In an all-North Yorkshire final, Cedarbarn faces competition from businesses including The Fox and Hounds at Sinnington, The Bow Room Restaurant at Gray’s Court Hotel in York and The Hare Restaurant with Rooms in Scawton. The judging panel comprises chef consultant, Steph Moon, Taylors of Harrogate MD, Simon Eyles and tourism and hospitality experts, Susie Brindley and Philip Bolson.
“We’re highly delighted and very proud to have reached the final of this award and to be in such great company. Our team have worked flat out over the last two years, so this is very well deserved,” said Cedarbarn’s co-founder, Mandy Avison.
The winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Headingley Stadium in Leeds on 5th December.
Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café began as a small PYO strawberries operation from a caravan 26 years ago and now is a thriving farm shop and café that sources a large percentage of its produce from its own and a neighbouring farm, supplemented with local suppliers.
