Sadly, they don’t offer food every day but often host excellent family events in their extensive beer garden, during which they serve food in collaboration with local caterers. Set on an acre of land, The Rustic Arms is a gorgeous country pub with an extensive food menu, a large beer garden and enough play equipment to occupy the kids for an hour or two. The Pledwick is a Gastropub located on the outskirts of Newmillerdam. The food here is superb and their vast outdoor seating area provides plenty of grass for little feet to run about on plus some excellent play equipment for them to clamber and climb over. On warm days, The Pledwick’s beer garden is more like a park but with the added bonus of being able to order excellent food and a wide selection of drinks.

This independently owned pub and restaurant near York has a stunning lawned beer garden featuring a fantastic children’s play enclosure. The colourful play area includes slides, tunnels, climbing nets, lookout towers and more so kids will no doubt be reluctant to leave!

The indoor dining space is beautifully decorated with polished wooden tables, plush carpets and a rainbow of pastel-coloured soft furnishings. The Ship Inn, Strensall

The Ship has sat in the pretty village of Strensall since the 1800s and is as popular with holidaymakers as it is with local residents. The family-run pub serves every day except for Tuesdays and their menu features all the pub classics like Steak & Ale Pie, Fish & Chips and Wholetail Scampi plus a couple of tasty burgers. The kids’ menu here is really reasonably priced at just £4.59 for main courses like Chicken Nuggets, Battered Haddock and Beefburgers. Again, this place has a lovely beer garden with a patio and a grassed area also. The play equipment is quite large so there’s plenty of room for a number of children to run, climb and slide together quite happily. Children are welcome inside and out but must vacate the premises by 8 pm.

The Gamekeeper’s Inn, Threshfield

The Plough Inn, Scarbororough

The Plough Inn restaurant serves food throughout the day so you can visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
