The city serves up a smorgasbord of culinary delights from restaurants and gastro pubs to fast food joints and street vendors. While savoury dishes typically take the spotlight, sometimes all we need is a sweet treat to satisfy our cravings.

If you’re a regular in this vibrant Yorkshire city, chances are you’ve explored many top lunch and dinner spots. But do you know where to turn for a quick and comforting sugar fix? Updated for 2026, here are the must-visit dessert places in Leeds to satisfy your sweet tooth…

Dessert Places in Leeds You Need To Try…

Haute Dolci

IMAGE: Haute Dolci

Unit 20A The Light, The Headrow, Leeds LS1 8TL

Haute Dolci in The Light is as pretty as a picture with its blush pink decor and luxurious booths. The menu at Haute Dolci is extensive, to say the least, with all manner of pancakes, croffles, cookie doughs, cheesecakes and sundaes on offer alongside a range of old-school hot desserts and a huge selection of gelato flavours.

I highly recommend the S’mores Cookie Dough for a warming and indulgent treat, and the Candy Floss Sundae is perfect for little ones or those with an exceptionally sweet tooth. A tasty combination of bubblegum and vanilla gelatos, topped with squirty cream, bubblegum sauce, sprinkles and cream-filled waffle cone, it was a big hit with my little boy.

My Cookie Dough

IMAGE: My Cookie Dough

24 Albion Place, Leeds LS1 6JS

My Cookie Dough has multiple locations scattered across the UK, and you’ll find one of them on Albion Place in Leeds. Fancy a more indulgent treat? Double up with My Cookie Dough’s double cookie stacks in flavour options such as Cookies & Cream, Kinder & Nutella and the ever-popular Biscoff. It’s an incredibly long menu here, featuring all the most popular desserts such as cookie dough, crepes, waffles, cheesecakes, gateaux, sundaes, freakshakes and more. It’s reasonably priced too, with a loaded sundae costing just £6.90.

With so many delicious options to choose from, this is one of the best dessert places in Leeds to visit with kids. A kids’ sundae here costs just £3.80, and your little one can choose from Strawberry & Vanilla, Bubblegum and Oreo Crunch Sensation.

The Savvy Baker

IMAGE: The Savvy Baker

Unit K3, 27 Albion Street, Trinity Leeds LS1 5AT

The Savvy Baker is a proper Leeds success story. What began as lockdown brownie deliveries from founder Savannah’s kitchen quickly snowballed into one of the most loved bakeries in the city, and at the end of 2025, the brand made its most exciting move yet, opening a flagship store in Trinity Leeds. The new city centre home is a step up in every way, baking cookies onsite and serving speciality matchas from a dedicated matcha bar alongside all the sweet treats that built the brand’s legendary reputation.

If you love them as much as we do, you’ll soon be clicking on their website and getting your Savvy Baker sweet treats sent straight to your door! The menu at the Leeds branch features crepes with numerous sweet and savoury fillings and toppings. The breakfast versions are perfect for munching on the go during a morning shopping trip, but the sweet ones are oh-so-delicious.

There’s a sweet crepe to suit most preferences at Crepeaffaire. Those who prefer a traditional crepe will no doubt adore one topped with sugar and lemon or perhaps, drizzled with warm Nutella. For me, it has to be the Cinnamon Banana & Butterscotch or ‘The Whole Shebang’ which features strawberries, banana, Nutella and a generous amount of whipped cream.

KULT Coffee & Gelato

IMAGE: KULT Coffee & Gelato

6 New Market Street, Leeds LS1 6DG

KULT is an artisan gelato parlour, bakery and coffee shop on New Market Street. Of course, this place offers exceptional gelato in an endless array of flavours, but brownies, doughnuts, burnt basque cheesecakes, and more are also on the menu.

The bubble waffles at KULT are particularly popular, and we’re not surprised. Choose your waffle base (original or UBE), then your base (whipped cream, Nutella or honey), and your preferred gelato or soft serve. Everything here is traditional, fresh and handmade – no supermarket-style ring doughnuts here. Crème pâtissière, chocolate ganache, custard and seasonal specials rotate alongside the classics, and the quality is genuinely exceptional.

There are countless bottomless brunches in Leeds on offer so it can be difficult to know which to book for that overdue day date or catch-up with friends. Varying considerably in price, composition and duration, these fixed-price daytime drinking and dining deals are excellent fun and often great value for money if you intend to sink more than a few alcoholic or even, non-alcoholic beverages. But which one do you book when there are so many brilliant restaurants and bars in the city?

Last week, we were invited to try the bottomless brunch at Manahatta on Greek Street. Just a couple of weeks ago, Manahatta announced it had extended the duration of its bottomless brunch from the pretty much standard 90 minutes to a generous two hours of unlimited drinking. When researching for other features, the Manahatta bottomless brunch has always been one of the most recommended by regular local brunchers; not just in Leeds but in York, Sheffield and Harrogate too.

My husband and I have done a few bottomless brunches in Leeds city centre now and, as of yet, have not finished a single one of them feeling disappointed…or sober! Manahatta was on our list of boozy brunches to try and we had high expectations as regards the atmosphere and variety of drinks included but though the food element could perhaps be a little underwhelming.

The popular NYC-inspired bars on Greek Street and Merrion Street offer two versions of bottomless boozing. The Bottomless Brunch is priced at £35.95 per person and is available until 3 pm daily. Those seeking a more upbeat atmosphere and wishing to dance the afternoon away can opt for the Bottomless Party which, available on weekends only, is priced at £39.95. As our partying days are long behind us and our weekends are reserved for spending quality time with our son, my husband and I chose to try the Bottomless Brunch on a Monday afternoon.

It was remarkably quiet at Manahatta Greek Street when we arrived but as we’d booked for a Monday afternoon and the weather was once again atrocious, this was entirely expected.

Aesthetically, Manahatta is everything it promises to be. With its intimate booths, enormous bar and stylish furnishings, it’s a chic and glamourous city centre bar with personality in abundance. We were seated in a curved booth with elegant green leather seating and ambient lighting provided by colourful glass pendant lights hanging above. A comfortable and intimate spot for the quiet brunch date were hoping for.

Almost instantly, our server introduced himself. We had no time to deliberate over the drinks menu as the ever-so-charming Oran presented each of us with an empty champagne flute and began pouring out the prosecco.

Initially, I assumed I’d misread the menu and that the summery cocktails, refreshing spritz drinks and pints of Coors were reserved for a brunch offering we hadn’t booked in for.

It was soon made clear to us that this was not the case. There had been no miscommunication, nor was the lovely Oran being a little presumptuous about our drinks choices! In addition to being able to order our chosen drinks from the Bottomless Bunch menu, the prosecco would be flowing continuously until our two-hour slot was up.

As aforementioned, my husband and I have tried a few bottomless brunches in Leeds. We’ve enjoyed unlimited cocktails with authentic Thai cuisine, copious glasses of wine with steak sandwiches, free-flowing prosecco with Eggs Benedict and several pints of craft beer with burgers, gyros, pizzas and more. However, during each and every one of our previous bottomless brunch experiences, we have never had free-flowing prosecco alongside other drinks. If dining in a group, this a surefire way to ensure that glasses are never empty and brunchers can continue drinking as they await lengthy drinks orders.

I have learned my lesson with prosecco so after three or four top-ups between our orders of Orchard Apple Spritz, Summer Punch and our favourite Strawberry and Basil vodka-based spritz drinks, I declined any more. Although it goes down with incredible ease, this brunchtime tipple goes to my head like nothing else and an afternoon recovery nap was not an option last Monday.

As regards food, we found ourselves equally impressed. Of course, Manahatta is primarily a spot for drinking, socialising and weekend partying so I didn’t expect the food to be much to write home (or online) about.

As one would expect with a bottomless brunch, the Brunch & Lunch menu is short but it is also well thought out with sweet, savoury, vegan and healthy options. Those wanting something a bit more substantial than a toastie, a bagel, a pancake stack or smashed avo can pay an additional £5 to order any dish from Manahatta’s main menu. We were happy with the choices initially presented to us and Mr Wilson-Barrett ordered the Beef Melt whilst I ordered the Lemon & Marscapone Pancake Stack.

Beautifully crisp on the outside and generously filled with melt-in-the-mouth brisket and oozing with melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar, Mr Wilson-Barrett’s Beef Melt was so much better than he had anticipated. A million miles away from the average grilled cheese sandwich, it was flavoursome and filling and left him wanting another! The accompanying pot of Henderson’s mayo added an additional flavour element which my husband appreciated immensely as he dipped, dunked and consumed every last bit with the crusts of his perfectly toasted sourdough.

My pancake dish was equally delicious. I was served three soft and fluffy buttermilk pancakes sandwiched with whipped mascarpone, Yuzu lemon syrup and fresh berries. Even without the creamy, zesty and fruity toppings, I would have enjoyed these. The texture was spot-on and the flavour of the buttermilk was deliciously noticeable. An indulgent but not-too-heavy brunch dish that satisfied my sweet craving and provided me with enough carbs to soak up at least three of the seven drinks I had.

Once I’d begun to feel the all-too-familiar head fog approaching (with 30 minutes of our slot still remaining), we decided it was time for us to end our thoroughly enjoyable bottomless brunch at Manahatta. However, this popular party venue had other ideas and prior to our departure, we found ourselves in receipt of one final surprise. Still bearing his infectious smile, Oran, who had already been so attentive and friendly during our time at Manahatta, made a dazzling approach to our table and presented us with complimentary shots.

A huge thank you to the team at Manahatta Greek Street for making us feel so welcome and for ensuring our day date was so enjoyable!

If you’re looking for a bottomless brunch in Leeds that genuinely fulfils its promise of unlimited drinks AND includes tasty brunch and lunch dishes, I highly recommend booking a slot at Manahatta. Set over two floors, the striking city centre building with its charming railway-themed interiors and friendly atmosphere is just a few minutes walk from Leeds Railway Station.

Opened just two years ago, it is was the second Head of Steam venue to open in Leeds City Centre and is the only one serving food. If you’re looking for laid-back vibes, quality ales on tap, a great selection of craft beers and tasty home-cooked grub then this place is well worth a visit.

Recently, Head of Steam on Park Row launched a brand new bottomless brunch in Leeds offering – a dining concept that has seen an incredible surge in popularity this year. Priced at £25 per person, diners can choose one dish from their set menu and consume as many alcoholic beverages as they wish during their 90-minute time slot.

Leeds certainly has no shortage of restaurants offering Bottomless Brunch and despite all being similar in price, some are certainly better value for money than others. As we’re currently on a mission to discover which Leeds restaurants are offering the best Bottomless Brunches in Leeds, we were more than happy to accept an invitation to sample Head of Steam’s!

We booked our slot for Sunday 24th October and arrived just before 1 pm. After checking in at the bar, we were quickly led to a quiet table by the window – the perfect spot for people watching on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Our waiter, Joe, soon introduced himself and took our first drinks order. As it was my husband’s birthday, we opted for Prosecco but other options included Bloody Mary, Craft Beer Flight, Aperol Spritz, lager, ale and cider. We were delighted to find out that we didn’t have to stick to drinking Prosecco for the full 90 minutes as many venues offering bottomless brunch only allow you to reorder the same drink you started with.

During our visit, we unashamedly managed to consume 8 (or was it 10?) glasses of prosecco, a pint of lager, an Aperol Spritz and two soft drinks between us.

Now, when it comes to brunch, the food options for Bottomless Brunch vary considerably from venue to venue. With it being such an incredibly popular dining concept, restaurants of all cuisines are offering their own versions so Bacon and Eggs are no longer guaranteed.

In keeping with the branding of Head of Steam, the food options are delightfully traditional. Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, Fruit Granola and The Full English are all on there alongside international favourites (American Pancakes, Belgian Waffles) plus their own tasty creation – The Piggyback Burger.

Having seen the menu prior to arriving, we had already decided on our dishes – Full English for myself and the Piggyback Burger for my husband.

We were both thrilled with our meals. Our generous portions were cooked to perfection – crisp streaky bacon, succulent sausages and seductively runny egg yolks.

Although we each enjoyed every aspect of our flavoursome, non-greasy brunches, we both agreed that the hash browns were the stars of the show. Slightly larger than usual with soft fluffy centres and just the right of crunch on the outside, they were the perfect accompaniment to our runny yolked eggs.

My husband, who would happily live off hash browns for the rest of his days, was overjoyed to find the crispy triangles both inside his burger and on the side – full marks from him for that alone!

All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We fully expected there to be at least one element of the offering that would disappoint but it really was exceptional value for money. The food certainly exceeded our expectations, we were never left without full glasses and the lovely lad who kept the bubbles flowing was friendly, welcoming and attentive.

As parents, daytime drinking isn’t something we get to indulge in very often so, towards the end we had to switch to soft drinks or risk a rather awkward and embarrassing stumble back to the railway station! We’ll certainly be visiting again and we cannot wait to try their other menus.

You Might Also Like…

Bottomless Brunches in York

Hotels in Leeds

REVIEW: The Ivy Asia

Vegan Restaurants in Leeds

Leeds certainly isn’t short of places to eat – there are restaurants, cafes and takeaways on every corner in the centre of the city. It’s home to countless eateries including everything from Michelin-starred restaurants and swanky fine dining establishments to family-friendly diners and street food heroes. There’s something for everyone in this great Yorkshire city.

Casual dining restaurants are by far the most popular choice in Leeds and with the city centre bursting with options, competition is fierce.

The latest player on Leeds’ casual dining scene is Pizza Punks, with a great offering of reasonably priced sourdough pizza, fresh pasta and craft cocktails. Having already seen huge success with their other restaurants in Glasgow and Newcastle, the company chose Leeds as the home for their latest opening and boy are we glad about that!

Our experience at Pizza Punk in Leeds…

We were lucky enough to have been invited over on Sunday evening to find out exactly what Pizza Punks in Leeds has to offer and we were more than happy to oblige.

Just yards away from Trinity Leeds, Pizza Punks’ new restaurant looks modern and inviting from the outside, with their recognisable funky branding and what we think is a rather large exterior dining area for this part of the city.

We arrived at 6 pm and received an enthusiastic greeting from the staff member at the door. They had only opened the day before and business was already booming at Pizza Punks Leeds; no doubt partially due to the excellent marketing campaigns they ran during the lead up to launch.

The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity so we were given the option of a booth area at the back of the restaurant or a table by the window. I always appreciate being offered a choice of tables as I’m not one who enjoys being gawped at by passers-by whilst trying not to miss my mouth.

Soon after we were seated, a friendly young waitress came to take our drinks order. As their cocktail menu is quite extensive, being comprised of their own creative craft cocktails plus classics with a twist, I asked for the waitress’ recommendation. It was soon decided that my sweet-toothed husband would have the Swizzle’s Matlow Drumstick inspired cocktail and I would have the Vanilla Manhattan – supposedly the “the booziest one on the menu”.

Image: Pizza Punks

Shortly after our drinks had been ordered, the same polite and bubbly waitress returned to take our food order. There were no lengthy waits whatsoever during our visit.

The sides and starters section of Pizza Punks’ menu includes all the expected offerings at a pizzeria – Doughballs, Salad, Chicken Wings, Bruschetta, Mac n Cheese etc. We chose the Chicken Wings and the Garden Salad to share between us.

Usually, ordering pizza is a simple process. You are often presented with a list of pizza names, each with different topping combinations. We all have our favourites and most of us like to stick to what we know. Pizza Punks, however, offer far more than that. Yes, such a list exists on their menu but you are also able to create your own. For just £11, you can have as many toppings as you want and the list of available toppings is pretty extensive. The same applies to their fresh pasta – choose your sauce and then add unlimited toppings. Quite apt for a company that describes themselves as “advocates of freedom and expression, of making your own choices and not playing by the rules” and “giving you the freedom to be who you are”.

Image: Pizza Punks

I’ve always been a fan of pizza but having developed a tomato allergy in recent years, it isn’t usually an option for me when eating out. Most pizza places tend to offer only garlic butter as an alternative to the tomato sauce base and I find this makes the pizza far too greasy. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Pizza Punks offer a white sauce as an alternative and this was partly why I was so eager to accept the invitation!

Both my husband and I chose to create our own pizzas. I opted for the white sauce base and chose courgette, roasted rosemary and garlic potatoes and caramelised pork belly as toppings. My husband, being unashamedly predictable, requested a BBQ sauce base topped with Chipotle Pulled Pork and Rum Ham Hock.

Not long after our food order had been taken, our cocktails arrived. The Drumstick-inspired drink was indeed garnished with a retro lollipop – much to my husband’s delight! As mine was a smoked cocktail, it arrived in a bottle and was poured out by the waitress at our table. Upon tasting, I found the waitress’s description of it as “the booziest one on the menu” to be entirely accurate. That initial taste blew my socks off but further sips were far more pleasing on the palette as the beautiful flavours of smoked vanilla and chocolate bitters became increasingly noticeable.

Our starters arrived shortly after our drinks and we were given a number of wet wipes for sticky fingers. Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and packed with flavour – particularly the sauce on the chicken wings which delivered just the right amount of heat. Nothing to fault there whatsoever.

Our pizzas arrived not long after we had cleared our starter plates and we ordered a second round of cocktails before getting stuck in. This time, a Strawberry Smash for my husband and a Love Heart sweets inspired cocktail for myself.

When the pizzas arrived, mine was a tad overdone on the underneath but as someone who purposely burns toast, a blackened base is a bonus for me rather than a negative! I’m sure, had this not been the case, the staff would have rectified this immediately as throughout our visit they remained attentive and eager to please without being intrusive.

At Pizza Punks they have taken the best elements from various pizza-making methods to create their own unique style. As stated on their website, “This is not Neapolitan Pizza, this is not New York Pizza. This is Pizza Punks!”. Their dough was inspired by the legendary sourdough produced at the famous Boudin Bakery in San Francisco. Handmade in-house using the finest Italian ingredients, it is fermented for 48 hours to ensure maximum taste. The result is a thin, crisp base for the toppings and a wonderfully light but chewy crust.

Although delighted to have been able to choose a white sauce base, I had been somewhat worried that this would make the pizza too sickly. This wasn’t the case at all as the white sauce made the perfect base for the flavoursome toppings I had requested, A truly delicious pizza that was vastly different to any I’ve tried before. The creaminess of the sauce paired perfectly with the freshness of the vegetables and the subtle sweetness of the Caramelised Pork Belly. The Limoncello based cocktail I had chosen also complemented the flavours perfectly.

My husband’s pizza looked equally delicious and was loaded with meaty toppings. He can be a difficult one to please when it comes to pizza and usually comes away from big chain pizzerias voicing his disappointment. He wolfed his pizza down in no time before claiming it was one of the best he had ever had in a restaurant and then proceeded to devour the rest of mine.

Upon finishing, we were asked if we would like to order desserts. We politely declined as had no room for anything else within our stomachs. Had we brought our son, we would undoubtedly have ordered the Biscoff Cheesecake for him so that we could “just have a little taste”.

All in all, it was an enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere within the contemporary restaurant was incredibly chilled with its industrial style decor, punk playlist and super friendly staff. Precisely what we needed on a dull and dreary Sunday evening. We left Pizza Punks and headed back to the train station feeling satisfied and in good spirits – possibly due to the strength of the cocktails and not just the exceptional quality of the food.

There are plenty of places in Leeds offering pizzas and cocktails but we recommend making Pizza Punks your next stop. At just £11 for a great quality pizza with as many toppings as you desire, it’s superb value for money. The cocktails average at around £8.50 and you certainly get your money’s worth in alcohol. I’ve paid a few pounds higher for cocktails in Leeds which tasted of nothing other than fruit juice. If you do visit Pizza Punks, we’d love to know your thoughts. We’ll be visiting again very soon!

It can hard to know where to start, which is why we’ve put together a series of articles to help you get exactly what you’re after! If you feel like indulging in some delicious Chinese cuisine, you’re truly spoilt for choice when it comes to Chinese Restaurants in Leeds.

With menu’s as diverse as you’ll find in any major city in the UK, whether you’re hankering after duck pancakes, Chow Mein or Dim Sum, there’s plenty of choice.

There’s also a vast range of price points and dining styles on offer too, from fine dining, to buffet style, you’re certain to find a Chinese Restaurant in Leeds to suit your occasion.

The Best Chinese Restaurants in Leeds…

Mans Market

Those who’ve travelled to Hong Kong and got a taste for the local cuisine will rejoice at Mans Market. Found in the heart of Leeds City Centre, on Wellington Street, Mans Market is a step away from the norm and is as cool as they come.

It’s undoubtedly one of the most stylish restaurants on the list, and thankfully for us, the food is as well thought out as the hip decor. With exposed pipework, industrial style throughout and a genuinely cool setting, Mans Market is a great place to kick back and enjoy some delicious, authentic Chinese food.

On the menu, you’ll find a whole array of wonderful dishes ranging from Western favourites like Satay Chicken and a great selection of dim sum, if your appetite wishes to indulge in some skillfully crafted, flavourful Chinese dumplings.

It’s a Chinese restaurant in Leeds with heaps of class, and it’s sure to delight diners, no matter what time of day you visit. If you’re in town for lunch – it’s hard to recommend any other Chinese restaurant in Leeds more highly.

Address: Unit F, West Point, Wellington Street, Leeds, LS1 4JJ
Phone: 0113 244 0808

Tattu

If you’re looking for something special, Tattu might be the restaurant for you.

The whole restaurant oozes class, from the skillfully well thoughout decor, which includes a giant cherry blossom tree which shadows most of the dining area, to the exceptionally put together menu, which promises to delight the taste buds.

The talented cheffing team here are the icing on the cake, and the service is attentive. You’d be forgiven for thinking an establishment with a reputation as fierce as Tattu would be overly expensive, but if you’re selective with what you eat, you can dine here for a reasonably modest sum.

Although, of course the dishes at the higher price points are even more awesome, I can’t fault their menu on any level. Whether it’s Dim Sum you’re after, or something a little out of the ordinary, you’re well catered for at Tattu.

Address: Minerva, 29 East Parade, Leeds LS1 5PS
Phone: 0113 245 1080

Home

Looking for a Chinese restaurant in a central location with delicious food, wonderful service and a touch of something a little different? Home is an ever popular destination for adventurous eaters and casual diners alike. Inside, you’ll find traditional Chinese decoration around every corner, and although the restaurant is relatively small – the atmosphere is often buzzing.

In comparison to many of the other Chinese Restaurants in Leeds, they focus on the less Westernised style of Chinese cooking, which means that you can expect a dash of heat within your meals. As well as a selection that caters for the Western pallette, they offer some of the less known, perhaps even niche dishes which are native to China.

It’s a popular destination for Chinese students who visit to enjoy the flavours of their home land – a testament to the autheniticity on offer here. The foods excellent, if you’re putting together an itenery that includes an evening out at a Chinese restaurant in Leeds, it should be placed firmly at the top of your list.

Address: 7 Back Blenheim Terrace, Leeds LS2 9HZ
Phone: 0113 318 1790

Oriental City

Oriental City, in LS7, is a massive hit with those who’re out for a serious eat.

Perhaps the most widely remarked aspect of eating at the long running establishment is that their portion sizes are generous.

They’ve got an exceptionally big menu, too, so if your out with picky eaters, there’s almost guaranteed to be something on the menu that’ll tickle their fancy.

Speaking of their menu, you can expect a wide array of Western crowd pleasers, including your typical sweet and sour dishes to name but one, however, as the scores of Asian diners who frequent Oriental City will atone to, those looking for something authentic are well catered for here.

They’ve also got a good range of sharing dishes, which is perfect if you’re out with friends – and what’s more, you’re bound to head home with leftovers – meaning that the Oriental City experience can continue into the next day.

Address: 30-36 Cross Stamford Street, Leeds LS7 1BA
Phone:

Sweet Basil Valley

Found just off Rawdon roundabout, Sweet Basil Valley is unmissable. The building it’s housed within is styled with traditional Chinese architecture in mind, which certainly captures the attention. Having previously been China Red, as well as Chinese Cuisine, they also serve a menu of Thai food, too.

Its vast menu, and various offers throughout the week makes it a great place for repeat visits. Inside, you’ll find a large dining space, with simple decoration and a variety of Chinese ornaments dotted around to add that all important touch of China.

Away from the City Centre, HanaMatsuri is something of a hidden treasure in Leeds. If you think this unassuming Japanese eatery doesn’t look like much from the outside, that’s because the food is the star of the show here.

Owner Kaora Nakamura set up shop in 2013 and has skillfully recreated the joys of casual Japanese dining. As a result, it’s one of the most critically renowned Japanese restaurants in Leeds.

So if Tokyo-standard sushi’s on the agenda, HanaMatsuri is certainly the place to be.

Yokohama

Yokohama, 331 Roundhay Road, Leeds LS8 4HT

A contemporary styled restaurant in the centre of Leeds, Yokohama specialises in both Japanese and Korean cuisine. Their menu contains over 100 dishes, which makes it the Japanese restaurant in the roundup with the biggest selection.

As a result, they’re a great destination for friends and family to enjoy a meal. With something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of Sushi, noodles or Grilled food, you’re catered for here.

Itsu

Itsu, 36-38 Commercial Street, Leeds LS1 6EX

One of the leading Japanese food brands in the UK, there’s an Itsu in pretty much every major city. Although some prefer opting for the more intimate offering of the independent eateries, you can’t deny they’re on to a winning formula.

Because of their national success, they’ve got an accessible menu. As a result, it’s one of the most Anglo-friendly Japanese menus in Leeds. Consequently, they’ve got a wide range of sushi, ramen and other Japenese inspired dishes on the menu.

Sushi Waka

Sushi Waka, 28 New Briggate, Leeds LS1 6NU

Found next door to a karaoke bar, Sushi Waka is well known for their extensive menu of sushi and other Japanese dishes. Toppings include everything from scallops, octopus, tuna, salmon, prawns and many more.

In the centre of town, on Lower Briggate, as a result of their intricately crafted Japanese cuisine, they’ve developed a big reputation and have the food to live up to it.

Senbon Sakura

Senbon Sakura, 71 Great George St, Leeds LS1 3BR

With unassuming decoration, Senbon Sakura is another hidden treasure. Due to its understated exterior, it’s often overlooked. However, within this intimate restaurant, you’ll find a range of options, ranging from the usual Sushi to delightful bent boxes.

As a result, Senbon Sakura is perfect for lunch. In the evening, their menu expands with more formal and substantial dishes available. So if you’re a fan of gyoza, ramen or have a general hankering for affordable Japanese down to earth cuisine – it’s one to add to your list.

Juici Sushi

Juici Sushi, 9 Britannia Street, Leeds LS1 2DZ

As their name suggests, Juici Sushi’s strengths lay firmly in their sushi. Using an eclectic range of toppings, like locally sourced salmon and other wonderful seafood – they’re perhaps best known as a lunch destination.

Relaxed, friendly and affordable, their chicken katsu, teriyaki and extensive range of sushi is perfectly suited for a payday lunch if you work nearby, or are in the area shopping. A little out of the city centre on Britannia Street, if in doubt, the team are happy to make recommendations.

Few of the suburbs of Leeds pack as much punch as Headingley when it comes to food. With much to choose from, if you’re a pizza lover or can’t wait to tuck into a hefty burger – you’re well catered for when it comes to restaurants in Headingley.

There’s also great pubs and bars on offer, too. But when it comes to food, there’s so much on offer that it can be difficult to know where to begin.

Not to worry though, we’re here with our Ultimate Guide to the restaurants in Headingley, to help you choose your next meal out wisely.

The Best Restaurants in Headingley

A delightful BYOB restaurant in Headingley specialising in Thai cuisine. If you’re looking for some fresh, home-cooked, authentic Thai food, there’s something to be said about paying Jino’s Thai Cafe a visit. Not only is Jino’s affordable, but it’s also got a relaxed and homely atmosphere which is perfect for casual dining.
A family restaurant that’s been in Headingley for generations, there aren’t many people in Leeds who haven’t eaten here at some point. Well known for its warm, welcoming service, Salvo’s is a traditional Italian restaurant with a menu full of quintessentially Italian dishes. Their Pizza’s tasty and their Pasta’s freshly made – what more could you want! It’s fairly priced and they’ve got a great selection of drinks – we’d recommend a visit if you’ve got family in town who you’d like to impress. One of the most popular restaurants in Headingley!

Sukhothai

4 St Anne’s Road, Leeds LS6 3NX

With a number of restaurants in Leeds, Sukhothai is many people’s Thai restaurant of choice. In fact, a finely tuned menu and a focus on delivering great service have allowed the restaurant’s reputation to grow to the point where they’re one of the most successful restaurants in the area. On the menu, you’ll find a large selection of Thai dishes. The founder of Sukhothai was once a well respected Bangkok street food vendor, as a result, the dishes are aromatic, authentic and hearty!

Red’s True Barbecue

Red’s True Barbecue, 6A Otley Road, Leeds LS6 2AA

Meat Lovers rejoice at Red’s True Barbecue. They’re an edgy restaurant which focuses on craft beer, meat and the ancient art of barbequing. Their menu’s fairly straight forward. There’s a selection of generously-sized burgers and stacked barbeque trays among other things. Probably one of the best restaurants in Headingley for carnivores!

Vegans and Vegetarians, this probably isn’t the restaurant for you. Although, if you’re a meat-lover you’re in for a treat. Red’s is reasonably priced, and what’s more, there are times where everything’s reduced – which makes visiting all the more appealing. Check their website for details.

Olive Tree

74-76 Otley Road, Leeds LS6 4BA

Another family-run Headingley restaurant that’s been serving the local community for generations. Greek food’s the name of the game here. So if you’re partial to delicately seasoned meats or can’t get enough Meze the Olive Tree should be at the top of your list. It’s reasonably priced with dishes ranging from £3.90 up to over £20. Although there are a few Greek restaurants in Leeds, Olive Tree is among the best. They’ve won countless accolades over the years as a result.

With no fewer than three Thai restaurants, Thai Sabai offers a relaxed, informal dining experience. With over ten years under their belt in Headingley, they’ve won multiple awards and as well as being cited as many local’s favourite restaurants. However, in 2018, it couldn’t be further away from this. Since this transformation, The Swine That Dines has quickly become one of the consistently well-reviewed restaurants in Leeds. It’s run by Jo and Stu, who are passionate about putting together excellent, creative dishes with the central ethos of avoiding any waste. With that in mind, they produce what many could consider as eccentric food, using the parts of the animals and plants which might traditionally be overlooked… and to great effect.

They have a regularly changing menu, which is a testament to the talent of the team there. It’s open throughout the day and welcomes guests for a laid-back fine dining experience with their own supper club taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you’re interested in indulging in something delicious, out of the ordinary and dare I say innovative, The Swine That Dines should take a firm place on your Leeds culinary bucket list. What’s more, they adopt a bring-your-own-booze policy on occasion which bizarrely makes this well established and well-respected restaurant among the most affordable on the list!

Lunch small plates start at £3.50, their evening menu is available at £49.50 based on two people sharing.

It’s an all you can eat affair, in the form of a delectable Brazillian Grill. Their food is cooked to perfection and, the way in which you’re served, makes dining at Fazenda a fantastic experience. Upon arrival, you’ll be given a beer matt with two colours. One colour signals that you’re open to receiving more meat whereas the other says – give me a little break! Polite and attentive waiters are on hand with no less than 6 cuts of high quality, deliciously cooked cuts of meat for you to enjoy at your will.

They have certainly added a touch of class to the idea of an all you can eat and come highly recommended if you’re a big meat lover.
